The drama around Erling Haaland will continue until the Borussia Dortmund striker finds himself a new club.

Despite being under contract with the Bundesliga side, and his clause not being applicable until summer 2022, last week the player’s agent and his father were seen in Barcelona ahead of talks with the Catalan club.

Several sides have been linked, with Manchester City thought to be one of those in the mix for Haaland’s signing. Tuesday’s edition of L’Equipe takes a look at the situation from a French perspective and as far as they believe, a move to Pep Guardiola’s side ‘would be his first choice’.

Barcelona aren’t thought to have the money, and it’s claimed Real Madrid are concentrating on signing Kylian Mbappe from PSG this summer. Bayern Munich have no plans to enter the race.

Negotiations are thought to be heading for the €150m mark, however, that would take at least two of the biggest clubs going into battle.

PSG are ‘not among the candidates’, according to L’Equipe.
