Leeds United have become the latest Premier League club, after Nottingham Forest, to show interest in Juventus’ Timothy Weah.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who mention Leeds in a report that focuses on Marseille’s plan to sign him this summer.
Nottingham Forest were strongly linked with the 25-year-old and even reached an agreement with the Serie A side. Weah, however, wasn’t keen on a move and his agent shared his anger with the Italian media.
The American’s decision to reject Nottingham Forest has opened the door for Marseille, Leeds or another club to try and sign him this summer.
L’Equipe state the Ligue 1 club have been negotiating for a few days to bring the former Lille man back to France. The report adds Roberto De Zerbi’s side have already presented their project to him.
According to the newspaper, it would cost around €15m to secure the winger’s services.
Marseille have to decide the formula to carry out the operation, with a loan, clause deal or permanent transfer under consideration. Leeds United are presented as their competition.
Given Weah has already snubbed Nottingham Forest, perhaps he wouldn’t be so keen on the Whites either.
