Everton have sent ‘signals’ that they are interested in a move for Lazio forward Joaquin Correa this summer.
That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport, who say the Argentine is ‘in suspension’ waiting for a move to happen.
Correa has been linked with a move from Lazio for several months, having reportedly told the Serie A side that he would like to leave.
Everton have been linked on numerous occasions at this point, with the latest report two days ago stating that they were ‘very interested’ and his club were expecting a serious proposal sooner rather than later.
He would rather be sold this summer and is waiting for the ‘turning point’ in that regard, having received ‘signals from Everton’ already.
If a move is to happen, Lazio would need a ‘suitable offer’ from the Premier League side or Inter Milan, who could move for him as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, should he complete a return to Chelsea.
Interestingly, the newspaper states he’s set to be a starter on the left for Lazio under Maurizio Sarri and argues he’s better playing there than upfront.
That would suit Everton as they’re believed to be looking for a left-winger this summer and have been linked to several over the last few weeks.
Looking at Correa to fill that role would make sense, and it appears signals have been sent that they’re keen, with him and Lazio now waiting for a bid.
