Sheffield Wednesday continue to be pointed out as one of the possible destinations for the Benfica forward João Amaral.

Newspaper A Bola confirms today that the player is not in the Eagles’ plans for next season, and therefore should be loaned to another club.

There are several Portuguese sides interested in Amaral, but with Benfica demanding the club pay his entire wages, moving out of the country seems a more likely option for the player.

Besides Sheffield Wednesday, there are also clubs from Croatia and Poland in the race, all seen by the 26-year-old as good options for his future.

Amaral has just arrived at Benfica. He was part of a controversial deal with Vitória de Setúbal, where the Eagles are accused of getting the transfer just to help the Sadinos.

Now without a place at the Estádio da Luz, it’s time for him to look for a new destination. We’d say that if Sheffield Wednesday try hard, they are pretty likely to get the loan.
