Sheffield Wednesday have reached an agreement with Angers for defender Yan Valery after striking a personal agreement with the player.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who say the 25-year-old has moved a step closer to joining Sheffield Wednesday this summer.
They report that Valery is not far from making his return to England after previous spells with Southampton and Birmingham.
Angers have already reached an agreement with Sheffield Wednesday for the defender, although the value of the transfer has not been shared.
Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Röhl was keen on a deal for the right-back after working with him at Southampton when he was the assistant manager to Ralph Hasenhüttl.
A deal has now been agreed and with Sheffield Wednesday having already agreed personal terms with the player as well, the transfer being concluded only appears to be a matter of time.
All that is required now is for Valery to complete a medical and sign on the dotted line, making his return to England and joining his third club, which we’re sure he’ll be hoping proves to be the lucky one.
