There are claims today coming out of Turkey that Sheffield United are showing interest in Besiktas attacking midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The former England international only signed for the Black Eagles last summer when his Liverpool contract expired.
Sabah report Sheffield United are in the running to sign Oxlade-Chamberlain as he eyes a return to England. The 30-year-old is said to be keen on returning to his home country after just one season in Istanbul.
It’s also claimed Besiktas are looking to offload the player, which would be a boost to Sheffield United ahead of any possible transfer talks.
The Blades will be looking to get promotion back to the English top flight and bringing in such an experienced player would be a statement of intent.
There are no reports about the transfer fee the Super Lig side would be asking for, but there’s perhaps a chance they’ll let him go for a token amount or even on a free.
Oxlade-Chamberlain made 30 appearances for Besiktas last season, scoring 4 goals. He’s contracted to the club until June 2026.
Before Liverpool, he’d been at Arsenal after moving there from Southampton.
