Sheffield United’s Anel Ahmedhozic has been a key player this season.
The defender has played 22 times in the Championship and has started each of the Blades’ last eight games in the league.
He was also an important part of the side last season in the Premier League and there seems to be the possibility of him leaving Sheffield United before deadline day.
The 25-year-old is attracting interest from abroad and Atalanta are monitoring the centre-back.
TuttoAtalanta have reported that the Italian side could make a late move to sign a defender in the winter transfer window.
Ahmedhozic and Ajax’s Daniele Rugani are on their shortlist. There is belief Atalanta’s backline is still short of numbers and the Bosnian’s arrival would help them add cover at the back.
A move could be made ‘in the final hours’ of the window but it remains to be seen what Sheffield United’s stance will be. As of now, a move for Rugani is likelier to go through.
Considering his importance to Chris Wilder’s side, Ahmedhozic may be out of reach.
