Sheffield United midfielder Vinicius Souza is set to travel to Germany next week to complete a move to VfL Wolfsburg.
That’s according to journalist Venê Casagrande, who reports that the German side have completed a deal for the 26-year-old.
He provides no transfer details in his report, but states that Souza is set to travel to Germany early next week to report to the German club. That will, presumably, be for a medical and to then sign his contract with them.
Souza has been with Sheffield United since 2023 but is now set to end his tie at the club for a move to Germany. He’s previously played for Flamengo before being sold to the City Football Group and playing for SK Lommel and then Mechelen in Belgium. He then headed to Espanyol in Spain before a move to Sheffield United when that loan deal ended.
Sheffield United paid €12.5m for him in the summer of 2003 and he’s since made 76 appearances for the Championship club in all competitions.
His contract with the Blades was due to expire in 2027 and it appears they’re now happy for him to move on, although for what price tag remains to be seen.
