Sheffield United youngster Bénie Traoré is set to join French side Nantes on loan until the end of the season.
That’s according to Ouest France, who say the Canaries are set to finalise a six-month loan deal for the 21-year-old.
The newspaper explains that Nantes have been quick to move in this window, which only opened yesterday, to source the attacking reinforcements that they have been seeking.
According to their information, Bénie Traoré is set to join on loan from Sheffield United until the end of the season to act as ‘the counterpart of Moses Simon’ on the right.
Capable of playing in a number of positions, ‘lively and a good finisher’, they see the youngster as an ideal addition to an attack in need of reinforcement.
The striker only joined Sheffield United from BK Häcken in the summer but has barely featured this season, with just 66 minutes of action under his belt in the last three months.
He is therefore looking for playing time and will head to Nantes to hopefully get it until the end of the season, although the deal will include a purchase option for the summer.
The value of that isn’t made clear but that is likely something that will come out at a later date, with the Sheffield United man first expected at Jonelière on Wednesday, presumably for a medical and to then finalise his loan move.
