Since Joao Palhinha’s exit from Fulham in the summer transfer window, his career hasn’t quite taken off.
The midfielder has played only 15 Bundesliga games for Bayern Munich and started only two games in the Champions League.
He has been linked with a return to Fulham in recent days and more has now emerged about the London club and the midfielder.
SportBild have reported today that Palhinha is likely to leave Bayern Munich and they believe that the German giants’ move for the Portugal international is turning out to be ‘puzzling’.
The outlet confirm interest from Fulham but state that potential suitors will have to pay around €51m, which is what Bayern Munich initially signed him for in the summer.
Marco Silva is said to be keen on bringing Palhinha back to Craven Cottage and club owner Shahid Khan is also said to be a fan of the player.
This can prove key in the 29-year-old’s return to Fulham, with West Ham also interested. It remains to be seen if they meet Bayern Munich’s lofty asking price or if the Bavarians agree to a discount in the summer, with a loan request perhaps a possibility.
