Several French clubs and principality side AS Monaco are positioning themselves to sign Sergio Reguilón after he leaves Tottenham on a free transfer.

That’s according to AS, who report that Monaco are currently the best positioned to sign the full-back this summer.

The newspaper reports that Reguilón face a crucial summer for his career, with him set to become a free agent in less than a month when his Tottenham contract expires.

Several teams have already explored a move for him, mainly from Ligue 1, which has shown the most interest in him so far.

The best positioned at this moment in time is Monaco, who have shown an interest in Spanish players this summer. They are also working on a deal for Ansu Fati and targeted David de Gea as well.

They value the defender’s experience, his time in English football and the possibility of getting him on a free transfer as well. They are also preparing for defender Caio Henrique to depart and will need a replacement if they do.

Reguilón is yet to make a decision on his future, but Monaco could be tempting as they can offer Champions League football. The Ligue 1 side could accelerate their move in the coming days, but there is competition from France.
