Newcastle United have been included in the long list of clubs chasing Fenerbahçe star Arda Güler, according to reports from Turkey.
The Magpies, Ajax and Paris Saint-Germain are the three clubs ‘seriously interested’ to sign the 18-year-old in this window.
That’s according to Fotomaç, who say Ajax are ‘currently lagging behind’ Newcastle and PSG in the transfer race.
It’s stated both Eddie Howe’s side and the Ligue 1 club have already knocked on the Yellow Canaries’ door for the midfielder. In addition to this, these two teams have ‘put on the table’ offers exceeding €20m.
Fenerbahçe, for their part, want to retain the Turkey international at least for one more year.
Over at Takvim, they also point out about the proposal made by the Premier League side to the teenager, which is ‘much more attractive’ financially. On the other hand, a move to Ajax would see Güler continue to develop from a sporting point of view.
Takvim state Fenerbahçe president Ali Koç conveyed to the player’s family of keeping him at the club for one more season rather than sell him to Newcastle. His parents informed the chief that Arda ‘will have the last word’ on his future and they’ll back his decision.
