Back in the summer window, the Portuguese media linked Manchester United to Porto striker Evanilson.
It was claimed that following a bid of €60m + €5m in bonuses, the Red Devils were preparing to offer €70m for the player.
That was not a story which made much noise at the time, since that was not reported by many newspapers and neither followed up by news articles.
Still, as outlet Correio da Manhã today writes about the Evanilson’s future, Manchester United’s interest is recalled.
The newspaper claims that with the striker having a knee injury which left him sidelined, that ‘cooled’ down the chase from the clubs who wanted him.
There it’s recalled that Porto turned down a €60m offer for him in the summer, and that ‘news’ talked about Manchester United preparing to but €70m on the table.
But all interested clubs seem to have backed off from their interest, and Porto are now afraid that this injury will even stop a big move next summer.
That should obviously depend on his recovery until then, but it’s now very clear he’s not going anywhere in January.
