Juventus FC have no intention of seeing Francesco Cassata joining Liverpool, according to reports from Italy.

As written by Calciomercato today, the Serie A side won’t give him away despite not finding a place for him in the current season’s squad.

Cassata is currently on loan at Ascoli, a second division side where he’s already made 22 league appearances since his transfer from last summer.

Ascoli have the option to buy him, but with Juventus including a clause which allow them to buy back later, they’re pretty well protected about it.

With a contract running until 2018, the 19-year-old doesn’t have much time to prove himself at the Old Lady. Having joined the U-19 squad in 2015, he never really had a chance to make his debut for the first team.

The links between Cassata and Liverpool come from January, when it was said that Jurgen Klopp would be willing to offer €10m for the midfielder, a move we explained could be quite complicated to pull off.

But if Calciomercato’s reports are true, this shouldn’t be enough to take him from Italy.
