Hull City have joined Rangers and others in the chase to sign KVC Westerlo star Matija Frigan this summer, according to Index.hr.
Three days ago, we covered claims from Belgium that Rangers want to quickly hijack Hamburg’s move for the striker. It was also stated Westerlo aim to collect €10m for him.
Rangers and the German club’s interest in the 22-year-old in now covered by Index.hr, who then provide their own updates on Hull City.
Rangers and the Tigers have appointed Russell Martin and Sergej Jakirović as their new managers this month.
The Croatian has previously played under the Championship side’s new manager at HNK Rijeka. He played 18 games, managing 10 goals and three assists in the process.
Despite Rangers and Hamburg interest, the report states ‘things have now changed significantly’ because of Hull City.
Jakirović has requested the English club to sign his former player to improve their attack. Index.hr add the frontman wants to reunite with his former manager at Hull City.
Earlier claims stated Frigan’s asking price is at €10m and the same figure is mentioned again.
There’s no mention of any negotiations between Hull City and Westerlo and it’s not given the operation will go through.
Frigan managed 14 goals and four assists from 41 games for the Belgian club this season.
