German magazine SportBild have a feature in their magazine this week about Hertha Berlin’s recruitment. The Bundesliga club’s interest in a winger is covered, and that leads SportBild to Serge Gnabry.
It’s claimed that Hertha are looking for a player with a similar profile to Gnabry, and he’s found his way on to the club’s shopping list.
Good performances for Germany at the Rio Olympics have brought Gnabry praise from many angles, and it will have of course also increased transfer interest.
Despite that, SportBild say Hertha could sign the 21 year old for just €2m, as long as he doesn’t extend his contract. Gnabry’s current deal runs until June 2017 and it would be no surprise if Arsenal are advanced on a renewal.
In that case, Hertha and any other interested clubs would surely have to settle for a loan move. Gnabry needs regular games, and if Arsenal aren’t able to offer him that next season then moving somewhere else would make sense.
