The A Bola story we covered this morning about Porto’s interest in Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham isn’t the only one from the local media today.
Following on from the Lisbon newspaper saying the Dragons are expected to soon make a bid for the player, outlet O Jogo brings a good reason why the club don’t want to waste time in getting the signing over the line.
The outlet claims that, from Celtic’s point of view, Ntcham had a season below expectations, which led to his market price dropping considerably.
O Jogo recall the player was a starter at the start of the campaign, but then struggled with injuries and hasn’t played for 90 minutes since December 29th 2018.
It’s claimed his devaluation could ‘open a window of opportunities’ for the Dragons, who tried to sign him last summer, but were stopped by Celtic’s demands.
The Scottish Premiership champions were asking for €15m to let the midfielder go last year, and are now expected to sell him for much less.
