On August 7th, we carried a report from Mundo Deportivo, who claimed Arsenal were ‘attentive’ Ousmane Dembele’s situation at Barcelona and their ‘proposal could reach €100m’, which would be considered.

Two days later, Spanish journalists Kike Marin reported the Gunners tabled a €100m bid for the World Cup winner with France.

A second source is now claiming the Premier League club made an approach for the former Borussia Dortmund man. RAC1 reports Unai Emery’s side wanted to take the 21-year-old on a loan deal with an view to buying him on a permanent deal next summer.

They offered €10m in loan fee and the remaining €90m was set to be paid in 2019. However, Ernesto Valverde’s side did not consider Arsenal’s offer at any time and rejected their proposal.

Dembele even laughed when he was asked about the rumours linking him to the English club, while he expressed his desire to continue at Camp Nou.
