Chelsea confirmed they have allowed their forward Michy Batshuayi join Valencia on a season-long loan deal on Friday.

The Spanish side also confirmed the Belgium international’s arrival on their official website, but neither of the two clubs’ statements mention if there is an option to buy the 24-year-old on a permanent transfer.

Saturday’s edition of Spanish newspaper AS claims the attacker’s temporary move to Mestalla will see them pay the FA Cup winners €3 to €4m in loan fee. They also claim that as part of the deal, Marcelino’s side will have an opportunity to sign the player on a permanent transfer after the end of the 2018/19 season.

If Los Che decide to land the former Marseille man on a permanent transfer, then they will have to pay €50m to the west London club.

At Valencia, the attacker will play in the Champions League, which would have not been possible if he had stayed at Chelsea.
