On Friday morning, we covered reports from the Italian media which revealed Spezia’s interest in Burnley goalkeeper Denis Franchi.

It was said the Serie A side are looking for a back-up option for the position this summer, and are now ‘targeting’ the 21-year-old.

It turns out there’s now a second club in Italy who are looking to sign Franchi from Burnley in the coming days, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The journalist reports that Ternana now have negotiations underway for the signing, and even ‘seem to have an advantage’ over Spezia for the transfer.

For now, there’s no information on how much the clubs are putting on the table, or even if they’re trying loan or permanent deals.

Since Spezia and in the first division and Ternana in the second, that may weigh a little on Franchi’s decision, although he may actually be more concerned about where he’d have more chances to play.

The goalkeeper, who wasn’t used by Burnley this season yet, has a contract with the club until 2025, with an option for an extra year.
