Anis Hadj Moussa is a name that you’re like to hear about a lot in the coming months and years. And that might be something Nottingham Forest don’t want to happen.

Hadj Moussa is currently starring for Feyenoord, who he joined in a €3.5m deal in 2024. Since then, he’s managed 32 goals and 15 assists in 97 goals for the Dutch club and earned himself admirers around Europe.

Arne Slot was believed to be keen on taking him to Liverpool at one point. This summer, Newcastle were keen on bringing him to the Premier League.

Sport Witness reported on that extensively at the time. For example, at the beginning of August, a deal looked likely. That never happened as the Magpies went elsewhere, but the winger remains on the Premier League radar.

Most in the Netherlands are expecting a big deal to happen before too long. Hadj Moussa is already valued at Hadj Moussa is already valued at €28m by the likes of Transfermarkt.

Nottingham Forest regret

That could end up being disappointing for Nottingham Forest. Why? Because one of their scouts had their eye on the 24-year-old long before he was shining in the Netherlands.

That scout is Chérif Oudjani. He has revealed all to Africa Foot.

“He has taken a step up, as this is a club that operates under a certain level of pressure and competes in the Champions League every year,” he said.

“I know him well; back when he was younger and I was working for Nottingham Forest, I was already scouting him during his time in Belgium.”

He’s not the only admirer of the Feyenoord winger either. Rabah Saâdane, for example, believes he’s very similar to Riyad Mahrez.

“His style reminds me a bit of Riyad Mahrez,” he added.

“A technical left-footed player who operates on the right flank, capable of scoring and setting up goals, changing pace, and catching opponents off guard. He is also very skilled at set-pieces. I’m a big fan of the precision of his passing.”

Big move pending

Nottingham Forest

Nabil Neghiz, meanwhile, is predicting a big move in the near future. The kind of move that could secure Feyenoord a top fee and leave Nottingham Forest looking back with regret.

“In my view, he is ready for a top five European league,” he conclued.

“So I would sooner expect to see him move there than to Saudi Arabia, though, of course, any choice he makes is to be respected,” he concluded.

“I believe it is better to finish the season where you started it. Changing clubs, sometimes even countries, in January is no easy task.

“However, I believe Anis Hadj Moussa will attract interest, and a departure this coming June is a distinct possibility.”
