Portuguese side SC Braga have reportedly just lost an important player for the upcoming Europa League clash against Leicester City.

As reported by Portuguese newspaper Record, midfielder Fransérgio had to be cut out of the squad after testing positive for Covid-19. This is the result of a test conducted on Monday.

The player, who didn’t show any symptoms, has been isolated from the squad and entered quarantine. Meanwhile, all other players and staff members tested negative.

Record points out that Fransérgio hadn’t been in touch with the squad at the weekend, as due to a suspension, he couldn’t feature in Braga’s match against Famalicão.

The outlet also reports that this is the first positive test at Braga, so there’s confidence this isn’t an issue that will spread.

Leicester City are facing Braga at the King Power Stadium on Thursday night. They currently share the top of Group G of Europa League with six points each, so it’s a crucial game for this stage of the tournament.
