Just 18 months after his arrival from FC Porto, Luis Diaz could soon have the chance to leave Liverpool.
That’s today reported by the Portuguese media, where outlet Record says the player is drawing interest from Saudi Arabia.
The report claims Al Hilal want Diaz and are willing to offer €50m for the transfer. The signing is said to be a request from Portuguese manager Jorge Jesus, and huge amounts of money would obviously be used to try and tempt the player.
Liverpool, however, aren’t thought to be interested in the bid. It’s claimed they are not expected to accept that amount, especially because Diaz is wanted by Jurgen Klopp.
Al Hilal don’t appear to have officially placed their bid for the winger yet, and it’s also not said whether they’d come back with a bigger offer in case the Reds turn that down.
Liverpool spent €47m to sign Diaz from Porto in January 2022. In his time in England, the winger had 11 goals and eight assists in 47 appearances.
The Colombian’s contract with the Reds runs until 2027, and he’s currently valued by Transfermarkt at €75m, an amount which the Anfield side could use as a reference to insist that he’s worth more.
