Hakim Ziyech’s wage demands are ‘absolutely out of the boundaries’ at AC Milan as he continues to push for a move from Chelsea.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say a deal remains complicated for the Italian club at this moment in time.
They explain that the attraction between Ziyech and the Rossoneri dates back to several windows ago but has so far resulted in ‘nothing more than flirtation’.
The Moroccan is a player that would suit Stefano Pioli’s game and Milan’s ambitions and he is available as he is out of the picture at Chelsea.
A move away from Stamford Bridge is ‘likely’ in January but it is currently ‘unlikely’ that he will arrive at Milan.
That’s because Ziyech currently earns more than €6m a year at Chelsea and could demand as much as €7-8m a year after managing to ‘relaunch’ himself during the World Cup in Qatar.
That is ‘too high’ for Milan and considered a ‘salary absolutely out of the boundaries’ that have been set by those in charge at the Serie A club.
Indeed, the money they would spend on Ziyech would be ‘reserved’ for Rafael Leao, who they are desperate to get signed to a new and improved deal.
As a result, the ‘interest remains alive’ in the Chelsea forward but there is currently something missing for the ‘flirtation to turn into a great love’.
That could change over the course of the January transfer window as a month is a long time, but for now, it’s a move that won’t be happening.
