On Monday, the Italian media revealed AC Milan had been in negotiations for Alvaro Morata before the player agreed his move to Chelsea last summer.
And it seems that Serie A’s top clubs are really interested in the striker, because today, newspaper Tuttosport reveals Juventus are considering signing him at the end of the season.
The headline states ‘Morata dreams with Juve’, which may be a little over the top. We say that because the player’s wish isn’t strongly stated inside the article, as the chance of a move is more taken like an opportunity to both the striker and the Italian club.
Perhaps they’re dreaming of each other.
Morata’s bad season for the Blues is clearly the reason why he would leave Stamford Bridge, but there’s no info on his wish to return to Juve being shown to the Italian side.
It would be a bit complicated for the Old Lady to make the signing, especially with Chelsea paying €80m to sign him from Real Madrid last year.
Juve would like to find a deal similar to the one involving Juan Cuadrado, who was loaned to the club on a two-year deal. Tuttosport claims that’s the way how Chelsea wouldn’t lose money, which is actually a weird assumption to make, unless there’s a pretty big obligatory buying clause included.
Is Roman Abramovich going to go for that? Probably not, but this is football so anything is possible.
