The preseason for every top European club will start in the month of July and the same applies for Chelsea too.
The managerial situation at Stamford Bridge is still unresolved as Antonio Conte is officially in charge of the FA Cup winners. The Blues are expected to appoint Maurizio Sarri as the Italian’s successor.
Following the acquisition of Sarri, Spanish newspaper Marca claims Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich “inteneds to” complete three signings “as soon as possible”. Those three players are Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson and CSKA Moscow midfielder Aleksandr Golovin.
The Roma star is currently representing Brazil at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The CSKA Moscow star is also part of the host nation’s squad in the ongoing Fifa tournament as both the nations have made it to the quarter-finals.
Regarding Golovin, Mundo Deportivo earlier reported Chelsea owner’s friendship with CSKA president Yevgeny Giner has helped the Blues sit in the driving seat to secure the Russian international’s signature.
Like Sarri’s appointment which was supposed to be done and dusted in the month of June, we would medically advise against holding your breath.
