Earlier today, TMW claimed that Tottenham have made very recent efforts regarding signing Ricardo Rodriguez.

It was reported Spurs had ‘in the past few hours’ made some sort of contact over a transfer for the Vfl Wolfsburg player. Tottenham were presented alongside Borussia Dortmund as being keen on the 25 year old fullback.

Agents often get the blame when these kind of rumours are pushed, but Rodriguez’s representative just isn’t that kind of guy. Rather than talk up the rumour or be cute when speaking about it, the agent has instead rubbished the claims.

Calciomercato have taken quotes Gianluca Di Domenico gave to Sky Italia today, and quote the player’s agent as saying: “There is nothing true, if in a couple of weeks they would call me we would talk about something else, but at the moment it is not so, things are often invented, Ricardo keeps Milan close.”

So that very much sounds like that.

Tottenham aren’t in obvious need of a left back but they have been repeatedly linked with players in the position. Much of that is down to the doubts around the future of England international Danny Rose.
