Feyenoord manager Robin van Persie has added his voice to the transfer chorus around Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Hugo Bueno, admitting they are in contact about a move for the 22-year-old.
1908.nl cover comments from the Feyenoord manager today about Bueno, as talks continue to try and take him back to the club this summer.
Bueno spent last season on loan with Feyenoord from Wolves and made a big impression at the club, particularly while they were in the Champions League.
They’re keen to bring him back and reports over the last few days have made it clear that talks are ongoing to find an agreement with Wolves.
Earlier reports had made it clear that a deal with Wolves might have been difficult as they will need a replacement for Rayan Ait-Nouri after he left to join Manchester City. The feeling was that they may want a look at Bueno themselves rather than let him return to Feyenoord.
The Dutch side haven’t give up on the transfer idea yet, though, and Van Persie admits that talks are underway about the Wolves left-back.
“There is contact with Wolves, but we will have to see in the coming period whether that will work out,” he said.
“We have mapped out what we want, but I will not share it here. If something happens here or there, we know what to do.”
