Inter Milan and AC Milan could be set to do battle for Tottenham midfielder Pierre Emile Hojbjerg this summer, with both showing an interest in him.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who say both Inter and AC Milan have asked Tottenham for information on the Danish midfielder.
They explain that Hojbjerg will be leaving Tottenham this summer, once he is done starring for Denmark at Euro 2024.
He barely featured under Ange Postecoglou for Spurs this season and is reportedly on the list of players who can leave as the Australian plans an overhaul of the squad. The fact that his contract expires next summer also means a sale is needed.
AC Milan have been credited with an interest for some time, but TWM report that rivals Inter Milan can now be added to the list of suitors.
They say that Tottenham have set a €15m valuation on the midfielder, which does not seem to be a problem, but the Dane’s €3.3m a year wages would be. There is a belief, though, that he may be willing to move on that front in return for a longer contract.
That’s to be worked out but Tottenham will be buoyed by the idea the two sides are keen and seemingly think a deal is viable, at least financially.
