Tottenham are without Harry Kane for the foreseeable future following an ankle injury, and many were wondering how the club would cope, despite the striker yet to fully hit his stride.
A 2-1 win against Middlesbrough at the weekend showed what Mauricio Pochettino’s men are capable of doing without him, helped by a very in-form Son Heung-min.
Ahead of their Champions League clash against CSKA Moscow, Sport Express in Russia decided to interview Harry Redknapp, who gave his two cents on what to expect from Spurs without their main man.
He said: “He’s a very important player, but I don’t think that Pochettino will rebuild his scheme. On Saturday, Spurs won away to Middlesbrough, and no significant changes were made. Additionally, Kane isn’t Bale yet.
“Without him, Spurs don’t lack quality performers: Alli, Eriksen, Son Heung-min. However, I don’t know how dangerous the new striker Janssen is.”
Asked if Tottenham remained favourites despite their loss to Monaco in their first group game, Redknapp was a bit more cautious, calling them ‘secret favourites’ because ‘with a win, they will be the main contender for first place again’.
It all depends how well Monaco do against Leverkusen, really.
