On Tuesday afternoon, an exclusive appeared on Fox Sports Brasil’s website claiming that Manchester United are interested in Bordeaux’s Pablo.
The Red Devils were said to have made an approach and asked for information, as the player was now on ‘José Mourinho’s radar’, and all of a sudden something clicked.
Over the past few weeks, we noticed that Manchester United had been sending scouts quite regularly to watch Bordeaux, having done so on November 8th, November 29th and December 5th (all courtesy of Girondins4Ever).
While some other clubs’ targets were clear (like Newcastle wanting François Kamano), we couldn’t put our finger on who the Red Devils could be watching.
Pablo might not be the big name defender à la Toby Alderweireld or Milan Skriniar, but, then again, José Mourinho doesn’t really care about all that right now.
He just wants someone who can defend.
That’s why this could make sense, and the regular trips to the Matmut Atlantique back up the claim from Fox Sports somewhat.
The 27-year-old defender received his first call-up and subsequent cap for Brazil back in October against Saudi Arabia in a 2-0 win.
