Ibrahim Osman will make a switch to Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer, after the Premier League side agreed a deal with FC Nordsjælland earlier this month.

The winger was of interest to various clubs in the winter market but no deal took shape. After the window closed, Brighton were able to secure an agreement with the Danish club for his transfer.

Speaking to Tipsbladet, Nordsjælland manager Johannes Hoff Thorup revealed that it was in the 19-year-old’s interest to make a switch to Brighton in the summer.

The manager has revealed Osman snubbed other options in favour of Roberto De Zerbi’s side.

“As everyone has read, he had several options in the transfer window, but he also chose the option that meant he couldn’t move until the summer and had to stay here for another six months. So, he’s reasonably prepared to develop further,” he said.

Tipsbladet also had a chat with the Ghanaian, who is pleased to continue at the Danish club until the end of this season.

“I’m happy that the deal could be finalised this winter. It’s also really good for me that I’m moving in the summer, because I can develop even more here before I move. Personally, I think it was okay for me to finish the season here, where I can also get more playing time,” Osman explained.

He won’t be the first player to leave the Danish club for Brighton as the latter had signed Simon Adingra from Nordsjælland in 2022. Osman has revealed that he’s already held talks with the Ivory Coast international about the Seagulls.

“He just told me about the coaches and the style of play, to make things easier for me,” Osman said.

The attacker doesn’t want to lose focus and wants to continue his development at the Danish club in the coming months.

“It’s a big step for me, my family and my surroundings, but I just have to keep focusing on my development. And when the time comes in the summer, I will continue to do what I have done here,” he added.

Nordsjælland signed Osman from Ghanaian side Right to Dream Academy a year ago, and he’s managed four goals and five assists from 41 games for them so far.
