Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Rúben Neves continues to be linked with a move to Barcelona and these reports have intensified since the La Liga side confirmed on Tuesday that Sergio Busquets will leave the Camp Nou after this season.
Earlier this week, Sport reported the 26-year-old has received approaches from a few Premier League sides but he’s put them on hold, waiting to find out the Catalan club’s final decision.
Friday’s Mundo Deportivo has a report on the Wolves star’s chances of ending up at Barca in the next window.
They first relay claims made elsewhere about the midfielder’s agent, Jorge Mendes, trying to include him as part of a deal to take Barca’s Ansu Fati to Julen Lopetegui’s side.
The newspaper then provides their own information as they state the ‘reality’ is that the La Liga side have a ‘verbal agreement’ with the Portugal international’s representative, if they decide to go ahead with his signing.
Barca technical leaders have been offered Neves ‘more than once’, but they don’t want the Wolves player because he doesn’t meet the profile of midfielder they are looking for in the market.
Mundo state they are ‘very clear’ of not wanting Neves.
Neves’ contract expires in 2024 and both him and Wolves have to make a decision on his future.
