Real Madrid legend joins Paul Scholes and Deco in India

Premier Futsal today announced the signing of Real Madrid legend Michel Salgado.

Salgado joins the likes of Paul Scholes and Deco, who will also participate in an exciting futsal tournament in India next month.

The Spanish right back, who won four La Liga titles and Champions League twice, has signed a three-year contract.

Shortly after signing the deal, Salgado explained his decision to sign for Premier Futsal: “Futsal is an extremely underrated sport. It has been the breeding ground for some of the biggest names in football the world over and I’m glad Premier Futsal in India is creating a platform that can showcase the sport and give it its due.

“I think the talent the league has managed to draw is fantastic with not just futsallers like Falcao but also career football players like Paul Scholes and Deco taking part. It’s almost nostalgic in a way to go up against these players again and I’m really looking forward to reliving the old days and reigniting those old rivalries, this time on the futsal court.”

Premier Futsal is the first ever multi-national futsal league to be hosted in India next month July 15 to July 24,2016.

Futsal players from 21 countries are expected to feature in the tournament which will be hosted across eight cities in India.

The tournament will also feature Falcao, who is known as the ‘Pele of futsal’, whilst Portuguese legend Luis Figo is the President of the League and is backed by Indian cricket star Virat Kohli.
