Philippe Clement and his men will make a trip to Spain as Rangers take on Real Betis in the Europa League on Thursday.

The La Liga side have received an injury boost as William Carvalho is set to be ready for the clash against Rangers.

A thigh injury forced the midfielder to miss the last three games and he returned to training on Monday. That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who state the 31-year-old will ‘arrive on time’ to face Rangers.

His availability against Rangers is decisive for the La Liga side because Guido Rodríguez is injured/suspended and Sergi Altimira isn’t registered for this competition. In addition to this, Manuel Pellegrini has used Marc Roca as a centre-back in the Europa League.

The report claims Carvalho is expected to partner with Andrés Guardado in the midfield against Rangers.

Betis currently have ‘multiple casualties’ as Rodríguez, Claudio Bravo, Youssouf Sabaly and Nabil Fekir are all ruled out for the clash against Rangers due to injuries.

Therefore, Mundo claim Carvalho’s return is a relief and a massive boost for Pellegrini.

Rangers are second in the table, a point behind Real Betis and a point ahead of Sparta Prague, who are in the third spot. These three clubs are in contention to progress to the knockout stage.
