Brazilian side Internacional today announced the signing of Alexandro Bernabei from Celtic, with him leaving Brendan Rodgers’ side for the time being.

On their official website, the Colorado writes that they ‘reached an agreement’ with Celtic for the fullback’s loan until the end of 2024.

Even though the Brazilian media has been saying that Inter will have a buying option of Bernabei, the club do not confirm it, and fresh reports don’t state what that would cost them.

The fullback had been playing very little for Celtic this season, with 429 minutes in nine appearances. He wasn’t even taken to their three last matches in the Scottish Premiership.

Bernebei joined the Celtic Park side back in 2022, signed on a €4.35m move from Lanus. Since then, he made a total of 28 appearances for the club.

His contract with Brendan Rodgers’ side runs until 2027, so we’ll see what happens at the end of the year, as a good impression at Internacional could result in a permanent move to Brazil.

A lot shall depend on Celtic’s demand for the sale, though, so that’s a subject he should get back into in the coming months.
