Rangers player labeled ‘brutal’ as French newspaper described Marseille match

 

Rangers have certainly left a mark on French club Marseille after Saturday’s friendly at Ibrox.

In fact, Rangers may have left several marks on Marseille, some quite painful, if French claims are to be believed. A trip to Ibrox is never going to be a routine jog-in-the-park friendly for European clubs and Rudi Garcia must have known his Marseille side were in for something of a battle.

Pedro Caixinha has spoken about changing the Rangers style of play, but he doesn’t want to lose any grit, and Marseille have become aware of that.

French newspaper L’Equipe cover the 1-1 draw and they’re not the only ones in France to more than suggest Rangers provided a ‘tough’ test to Marseille.

Morgan Sanson has explained Marseille expected a difficult match, and for it to be physical, but not quite so physical.

Rangers defender Fabio Cardoso is described as ‘brutal’ by the French newspaper, and Marseille left Ibrox relieved they didn’t suffer a loss and any serious injuries.

It’s being seen as a wake up call for Marseille, ahead of their Europa qualifier, and the test that perhaps the side needed, however much their experience at Ibrox hurt.
