Rangers sacked Giovanni van Bronckhorst on Monday and later that day, reports in the Scottish press pushed forward Siniša Mihajlović as one of the candidates to replace the Dutchman at Ibrox.
The Serbian was shown the exit door at Bologna in September but will still receive his salary from them until the end of this season.
Earlier on Tuesday, Il Resto del Carlino stated Mihajlović must negotiate his financial divorce with the Serie A side to join the Scottish club. He isn’t the only candidate with experience in Italy on Rangers’ radar.
According to SerieBNews, Walter Zenga to Rangers is ‘destined to become hot’ in the ‘next few hours’. The 63-year-old has been without a job since leaving Cagliari in August 2020.
It’s said the Italian was close to returning to Serie B, but that hypothesis seems ‘destined to vanish definitively’ because of Rangers. His future could be far away from Italy.
SerieBNews push forward Zenga as a candidate for Rangers, and towards the end of the report, they say his name is among the targets ‘examined’ by the Ibrox club.
