The Portuguese media today highlights Rangers interest in Benfica fullback David Jurásek, and it sounds positive for Philippe Clement.
There are a couple of outlets speaking about this chase. One of those is A Bola, who claims the Eagles are willing to loan the 23-year-old.
Benfica are about to get Alvaro Fernandez from Manchester United, meaning they can get rid of one of their left-backs this window. Jurásek seems to be the first in line, as they want him to get some more experience.
It’s said Rangers were the ‘latest club’ to show their interest in the temporary deal, while Marseille edged out of the race.
Newspaper O Jogo also talks about this chase, confirming that Jurásek is leaving Benfica this winter.
They claim that Rangers got in touch with Benfica to ‘evaluate the conditions’ of a loan for the rest of the season.
O Jogo makes the chase sound a little harder, though, as they first claim that Marseille did not leave the competition, then say that Lens and other clubs are still interested in the player as well.
Benfica spent €14m to sign Jurásek from Slavia Praga last summer, and Philippe Clement’s side need to present good arguments to show Rangers can be a good place for his development.
