Rangers have signed only one player in the January transfer window, with Rafael Fernandes arriving at the club on loan from Lille.

There could still be additions at Rangers in the final hours of the window, and there have been attempts made by Philippe Clement’s side.

Het Nieuwsblad, a Belgian newspaper, journalist Pieter-Jan Calcoen has reported that Rangers are interested in signing Union Berlin striker Yorbe Vertessen.

They have made a very late move for the 24-year-old Belgian and tried to convince him to set off for Ibrox.

Unfortunately for Rangers, Vertessen has already made his decision and will not join Rangers. The forward is already said to be on his way to Austrian giants RB Salzburg, who will sign him on a permanent deal soon.

It looks like Rangers were late in their move for the player, who has one Bundesliga goal this season and is not a regular for the German side.

Vertessen has never scored more than six goals in a single league season in his career and considering that, there may be better options in the market for Rangers.
