As Ralph Hasenhüttl is about to have his first summer market at Wolfsburg, it seems he could go after one of the players he managed at Southampton.

According to Kicker, the Bundesliga side have now set eyes on Armando Broja, having him as a ‘candidate’ to join the club in this transfer window.

Broja, who belongs to Chelsea, didn’t have a great spell on loan at Fulham, and that’s actually seen as a boost for Wolfsburg to find a good deal for him.

The outlet points out that Hasenhüttl knows the striker very well, given that they had a year together at Southampton in the 2021/22 season.

Also on loan from Chelsea, Broja had scored goals in 38 appearances made for the St. Mary’s side.

The striker continues to have a contract with the Blues running until 2028, although he’s not really in their plans.

Hasenhüttl, who left Southampton back in November 2022, only took another job when accepting Wolfsburg’s invitation in March 2024. The German club aren’t expected to try for a permanent deal for Broja, so a reunion with his boss would only happen with a new loan.
