Among the many Leeds United players who sought moves away from Elland Road following the club’s relegation to the Championship, Marc Roca’s spell at Real Betis was among the more successful.
However, he suffered from pneumonitis for a while, and his form has dipped since his return, which Mucho Deporte believes now ‘raises questions about the future’ of the player with the LaLiga side.
They recall that even without this dip in form, an extended stay at Real Betis would require a chunk of money being sent over the Leeds.
Furthermore, if the Whites are promoted back to the Premier League, the deal would have to be negotiated between the two sides, one that is ‘expected to be expensive’, and that would be ‘without the possibility of an extension to his loan’.
Therefore, it would be in Betis’ best interests if Leeds were to stay in the Championship, as they could seemingly negotiate to keep the midfielder for an extra year.
Prior to his physical setback, the 27-year-old had been a mainstay in Manuel Pellegrini’s plans, having made 34 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals and providing teammates with three assists.
