Former Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani is facing a very complicated situation at his new club Sampdoria.
According to La Repubblica, relayed by Cope, the signing of former Celta de Vigo striker Santi Mina has been ‘blocked’ by the Italian club’s fans.
The 27-year-old has a conviction for sexual assault, and now faces resistance from fans over a move to Sampdoria.
The story claims the fans got in touch with Radrizzani, asking the former Leeds owner to ‘block any type of contact’ with the player.
Even though other Italian outlets say the talks for the signing are still very advanced, we shall see what the decision will be.
As said by Cope, Celta Vigo unilaterally terminated Mina’s contract, using all ‘legal loopholes’ on their side to dismiss him from the club.
Radrizzani may not have seen the player’s crime as a problem to sign him as a free agent this summer, but Sampdoria fans did, even though the owner seemed to be having a good start with the Italian side.
Just months after his departure from Leeds United, things start to get tough for him back in Italy.
