When Fernando Llorente was at Athletic Club Bilbao there were repeatedly stories fed to the media that big Premier League clubs wanted to sign him, the same happened when Llorente was at Juventus, and again when the Spanish striker was at Sevilla.
Llorente did make the move to the Premier League with Swansea City, and with all due respect to the Welsh club, it wasn’t the kind of big transfer the player had repeatedly been linked with.
It’s no surprise that recently there have been reports of Antonio Conte interest. The Italian manager signed Llorente for Juventus and despite him not using Michy Batshuayi as much as may have been expected, Conte’s Juve had more strength in depth up-front at Juventus, and his favoured formation requires additions.
Now there could be a new track. French newspaper L’Equipe say PSG have been considering signing the Swansea player as back-up to Edinson Cavani. The idea hasn’t been accepted by everyone at PSG, but there’s a level of interest.
This is all an issue for Swansea. It doesn’t take a huge hunch to believe Llorente is at least tentatively being dipped into the transfer market, which would mean he’s looking at life beyond the club.
PSG interest could also be an issue for Chelsea, if only to drive up the demands of Swansea City and the player.
