English reports of Chelsea potentially being interested in a move for Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak have got Real Sociedad rubbing their hands once again.
That’s according to El Diario Vasco, who get excited about the possible big transfer this summer given how Sociedad could benefit from the Swedish star once again.
Reports this week have indicated that Chelsea are preparing an offer for the Newcastle United striker that could be worth around €135m.
Those reports made it clear that the two teams have held talks about the striker, who would become the most expensive signing in Chelsea’s history if such a deal was concluded.
The Magpies paid €70m for Isak in 2022 but Real Sociedad negotiated that 10% of the profit from a future sale would go back to them if he ever moved on.
So, at the aforementioned figures, they would be due 10% of the €66m profit that Newcastle would be making from the sale to Chelsea. So, €6.6m would be winging it’s way to Donostia, which may be little in the modern game but would be welcomed by the Spanish side either way.
It’s all hypothetical at this point but Sociedad are watching with interest again, excited at the prospect of making a little more profit from Isak this summer.
