Tottenham Hotspur target Roony Bardghji has been advised to consider making a switch to Italy or Spain.
According to Fotbollskanalen, Spurs are one of the clubs who have interest in the FC Copenhagen star.
On December 21st, Denmark’s BT reported Tottenham are the winger’s big suitor. A few days later, InterLive.it said Ange Postecoglou has specifically asked the north London club to sign the 18-year-old.
Spurs have already agreed a deal with Djurgårdens IF for Lucas Bergvall to arrive at the club in the summer. Bardghji has recently admitted it would be nice to join Bergvall and Dejan Kulusevski at the Premier League side next season.
Amid interest from Tottenham and other Premier League sides, Fotbollskanalen journalist Siavoush Fallahi is of the belief a move to Italy or Spain would be best for Bardghji.
“He says he wants Jordan Larsson’s speed because then he wouldn’t have had to dribble, so I think Spanish and Italian football would have suited him better. Where technicality is valued more,” he told TV4, relayed by Fotbollskanalen.
Former Celtic defender Mikael Lustig has urged the Sweden U21 international to take an intermediate step, before making a big jump in the future. He made this claim when asked if the Tottenham target deserves a place in the national team.
“I’ve wanted him in the squad for a long time. He has shown that he can sit on the bench and says that he sees himself coming on and deciding games, which he has done. And I think the national team has been missing that,” Lustig explained.
“I hope first and foremost that he gets to play at FCK and then makes a smart choice and doesn’t go to a too good club and get stuck on the bench.”
Meanwhile, TV4 expert Vicki Blommé believes both the player and Copenhagen could find it difficult to reject an offer from a big club.
“Right now, he’s not a clear starter at FCK, you have to remember that. But the potential is enormous. If offered big money and a big club address, I think he and FCK will have a hard time saying no,” she added.
