Watford are no strangers to having Udinese players join them on loan – as evidenced by James Abankwah’s transfer to the London side in the January transfer window.

The Hornets could soon be set to land another player from the Italian side, who are considering a transfer.

Tuttomercatoweb have reported that the player in question is Holstein Kiel’s Niklas Niehoff, who is currently on loan at German third division club Osnabruck.

So far this season, the young wide player has seven assists in the league and the report states that the Udinese will look to sign him in the summer.

This could lead to Niehoff being loaned to Watford, who can help make sure that the 20-year-old matures further before returning to Italy.

The talent’s performances in 3.Liga are attracting attention in Germany as well but Udinese could soon make a concrete offer for him. The belief is that Niehoff fits the bill for the kind of player the Pozzo family want and they would want to increase his valuation and boost his abilities in the future.

Watford are essentially lying in wait, with another Udinese loanee in Abankwah impressing in the Championship so far.
