Portuguese midfielder Erico de Sousa is having a trial period at Reading, according to claims from Portugal.
A Bola reports that the player has traveled to England and already took part in one of the club’s U23 games.
The match they’re referring to was the 2-1 Reading defeat to Derby County which happened last night.
The 21-year-old played for Barsnley, Hyde FC and Slovenian side NK Celje, where he stayed until last month. A Bola also claims he had spells in Manchester City’s youth levels, although other websites can’t confirm it.
The newspaper uses claims from the Slovenian press which said the player was released by the club for ‘family reasons’, but they can’t specify what the problem was. He hasn’t played in an official senior match for a few months.
Playing on both wings last season, Erico de Sousa scored one goal and made four assists in 24 matches for NK Celje. Reading will be hoping the youngster impresses enough to be worth snapping up.
