The João Cancelo saga has been on for a couple of years now. But with the player spending this time in Spain and Italy, his home country’s media never knew much about his situation.
Of course Portuguese newspapers always had stories reporting the news about his possible transfers, but they would always credit it to the foreign press.
However, it seems it changes today. Because Portuguese website Mais Futebol finally brings their own story on Cancelo’s move to Manchester City.
They say the deal isn’t done yet, but according to their sources, it’s ‘well underway’. The process could be done between Monday and Tuesday.
Mais Futebol says the offer on the table is for Cancelo to move to Manchester City, while the Premier League side should send Juventus some money plus Danilo.
Of course this is a deal which the Italian media has been reporting for months, but it’s interesting to see the Portuguese media finally getting some information. It probably means the transfer is getting closer.
