We admit we didn’t expect the Portuguese media to have a lot of information on Marco Silva’s situation at Everton, but it turns out they’ve been bringing some interesting stories on the manager.

On Monday, Record reported that after meeting the Toffees’ board at the weekend, Marco Silva went back to Portugal for a couple of days off and would be returning to England today.

The information ended up being confirmed, with people on Twitter spotting the manager leaving Lisbon and heading to Liverpool this morning.

Now Record adds that Silva is on a ‘tightrope’, and the team’s performance against Leicester City next Sunday should be decisive for his stay at the Toffees.

And newspaper O Jogo has a story on the manager as well. They say that after meeting club officials following the loss to Norwich City, Silva was given a ‘vote of confidence’ for the upcoming games.

The problem is that Everton are about to face Leicester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Leicester City again and then Arsenal. So despite his new chance, the boss has a very difficult challenge ahead.

Both outlets take claims from England saying Everton may be negotiating the arrival of a new manager, but neither of the reports brings new information on that.
